A ROAD BLOCK TO PROGRESS

EASTER one, two, three days LATER!!
So much has happened.
Easter Evening, we skipped the news and watched OUTLANDER and THE CROWN.
04.13.2020: Up and writing by 0530. Reading and answering emails.
0830: SWOMBO is up, and we walked Udall Park – the temperature is 68º, and the Sun is producing Vitamin D in thick beams. We walked for twenty minutes with only two stops: One for a rest on a rock bench. (The shade shelters were off-limits with yellow tape around the corner uprights.) We talked with two other walkers – six feet apart, of course – and further along, stood the accepted distance and spoke to a couple about oil painting and the Marines! PJ took 1600 steps total with no back problem.
0930: Breakfast. 1000: We move to the patio, and SWOMBO cuts my hair. 1145:Although it is getting windy, I decided to practice shooting for ten ends. SWOMBO keeps score. Only 160/300. I kept shooting two arrows in and one out most of the time. I had to change the target cube from the one spot to the three-spot. Where the white is, about 50% isn’t, anymore. (A picture is coming.) 1400: PJ is reading, and I’m organizing my emails. The first stories are coming in from the 500-word challenge. 1900: We had a light dinner of peanut butter sandwiches and jelly and an apple sliced as we watched Call the Midwife and part of THE VOICE. Even at that, we stayed up until 2200.
04.14.2020:0530: Checking emails for the writing challenge.
From our dear friend Mimi Tipton, who has PD and everything else!:
Your Newsletter looks so professional. Good job! I especially like that it doesn’t take up much space.
I am too sick to be on the {Zoom} call tomorrow. The MSA is progressing so quickly it is scary.

Could you deliver this message? Of all the Parkinisomisms It seems that less is known about MSA Multiple System Atrophy than the other Parkinsonisms
The swallowing problem has begun, although I did not think it would arrive for a year or two. I have already had to start eliminating food and eventually will be on an all-liquid, pureed diet.

Additionally, my respiratory system is failing, causing lots of day and night stridor, coughing, and other dangerous breathing problems. The doctors are trying to abate the situation with little success so far.

Thanks!

A prayer for our good friend, MiMi is appreciated.

0900: PJ and I walked at Udall Park. Eighteen hundred steps and two rests in thirty minutes.

A pine gives her shade.

1030: We’re home for breakfast. (Before the walk, we had a protein bar.)
1115: I practiced shooting. I’m shooting more to the left, as you can see.
I rotated the cube to the three spot side.
SWOMBO keeps score! She cheers me on. I shot 240/300!
My highest score yet.
When I break 250/300, I’ll move from ten to twenty yards. That action will separate the adults from the children.
1245: PJ and I have reached a block in our regular activities. For an alcoholic, it would be a case of 12-year-old Glenlivet Scotch Whiskey; for a puzzle addict, it is this. To make matters worse, we’ve been “clean” for twenty years. The pressure is on since The Shulicks have four members against us. They have the same type, only a different picture, and want to trade with us when we finish. Their children will graduate from college before we finish! And so ends Maytag Moments for a LONG time.
