Scoring the target: Note the + in the center. The + is a bonus at the end of competitive shooting in case of a tie. The inside ring = 10. The next circle out (still yellow) = a 9, then red, and on down to the last white circle, which = a 1. The score of these three arrows would be 10+, 9, 8 =27.

03.24.2020: 0445: up and excited about Quail Run Writers. We’re going to try to communicate via email as if we were meeting at Guy’s Castle El Dumpo at 0900. Considering the problems, we did pretty well. For some unknown reason, by 0930, my keyboard stopped functioning. I moved to my laptop and had the same problem! However, I could still use Dragon. Bobbie in Atlanta got her poem in. Pauletta and Beverly got some of their writings in, Guy had his in. After an hour of grumbling, I finally resorted to shutting off my two computers and re-booting them. That worked. I still don’t know what caused the shutoff. By noon all the stories submitted except PJ’s and mine. I realized that in all the mix, I hadn’t sent them. Guy wrote about Mark, a lonely, insufferable man. Bobbie sent a mystory poem about a bloody napkin found under her table. Pauletta wrote almost a meditation referring to time in our lives. Bev took the reader into a closet and down a tunnel. (Shades of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis). Somehow, she always manages a mystery. PJ continued with her memoir of time spent with Sam while in Norfolk, Virginia. Sam told of an award he received in college. If Jeanne tried to send us something (from Austin), we missed it. Flo and Sharon were absent.
Next meeting maybe we can meet live. If not, we’ll try a new program for writing. Instead of meeting at the Viscount, RWA is having writing Sprints for us. I signed up for that to see how they handle thirty writers in one day.
After lunch, I practiced shooting to clear my mind of the keyboard frustrations. We drove to Borst Automotive to pick up the Matrix, stopped by the bank, and Walgreen’s and came home for a nap. We did no walking today. PJ fixed the dinner – sweet peppers and mushrooms (sauteed by Sam) and ham sandwiches.
We watched ABC News and the rest of The Voice and went to bed by 2100. This morning, I did my exercises for Tresha.
