AFTER THE PUZZLE -(ment)

Maytag Moments
(AFTER THE PUZZLE)
04.14.2020: 1600: No work on Puzzle. Too nervous.
1700: PJ rode with me to NYPD for a white pizza. Too much cheese for me.
We finished watching THE VOICE. 2100:Went to bed.
04.15.2020: 0415: Here’s The List for today: Write, Puzzle, Archery, PT at Body Central for PJ, Wild Birds Unlimited for four seed cylinders, Puzzle, Archery, Write, Puzzle. Netflix-The Crown. 0630: empty garbage- transfer laundry to the dryer –
0700: Hot tea and Puzzle. 0800: breakfast. 0900-0930: Puzzle
0945: Stop for PT at BC. While PJ has PT, I bought two replacement filters for the cold water/ice cube dispenser for the refrigerator. I made it back with ten minutes to spare. PJ was just finishing her session. 1100: On to Wild Birds Unlimited, where Frank placed four seed cylinders in the back of the Matrix. Home for left-over pizza.1200: Two people are working on the Puzzle. Shulick’s are four. Slow process. PJ is tired after all the PT exercising and leaves for a nap. I continued on the Puzzle until 1430.
I need a break. I’ll shoot five ends for practice. 1440: PJ is up working on the Puzzle. I shot five Ends for practice. Again, like yesterday, I kept shooting 2 out of 3 in the center. The last end was 30. No cigar! We worked on the Puzzle from 1440 until 1630. Here’s our progress.

Got this from Margaret Ann. That’s a WIND HARP in case you wondered. The strings respond to the wind. If I lived in La Posada (Green Valley), I’d visit this spot regularly.
04.16.2020: Up at 0530 (late for me) reading my mail.
0830: Phyllis (PJ – Swombo) is up, and we’re going for a walk to collect vitamin D.
0845: We walked 1750 steps in 30 minutes with three sits. 0930: Home and breakfast. 1000: Archery. Shot for a score. 170/300. Yes, I can do better.
1200: PJ and I spent four hours on the Puzzle, and almost have the perimeter. At this rate, we’ll finish by April 30, 2021. Maybe.

Breaktime.
A Queen of Sheba vine is behind the about-to-bloom The Harold Slocum Amarillis.
PJ took this picture.

A Ladderback Woodpecker visits. Proof that we don’t just stare at Puzzle pieces all day. We do move to the windows to watch the birds. The Ladderback seems to be more skittery than the Gila woodpecker.

04.17.0500: Answered email and sorted pictures for this edition of Maytag Moments. Remember: We won’t publish until we finish the Puzzle.
PJ put 2000 steps walking Udall Park with me. She’s getting better. The injections are helping.
I spent two hours (off and on) re-learning on-line banking with my cell. Peter, the branch manager, was so patient with me. Now, if I can just remember until next week. Shot 190/300 in Archery today. Swombo cheered me on. At least no zeros in the ten ends.

04.18.2020: 0730: Ooopps! Gotta’ wake PJ to go for our walk. PJ walked 2260 steps, today!
0820: Some kind soul scattered flower petals along the south path of Udall Park.
And in well-spaced areas, different exercise classes are happening. Too bad, our Tai Chi class is not here.

Progress for PJ and Sam Progress for The Shulick Family! WINNERS!

As you can see, PJ and I need a few more months to finish!. If and when we are released from our cages, we will invite The Shulicks over for a “Finishing Party.”
Let us hope it will be before their children have graduated from college!
04.19.2020: Up by 0500. I spent two hours reading (and responding to) email letters. 0815: I’m letting Swombo sleep as long as she wants this morning. She likes to wake up when she is through sleeping.

The Harold Slocum Amarillas. PJ’s father gave us this bulb in 1997. We have two others: Olive Slocum, and Eloise (or Aunt Ki with a bow to my mother and all of the Clarkdale, Arizona families.) Olive and Eloise just haven’t bloomed yet.
The Eloise Amarillas may blossom in a few days.
0830: I finally found the Zoom site for our church, watched the service, and participated in the TALKBACK.
We worked on THE PUZZLE for about an hour.
1230: We had another ZOOM meeting. This time with Bekah (hosting) in Chicago, Joe, and Jessa, Rachael, and Ethan in Corona de Tucson. It worked!
After all the excitement, PJ took a nap. Sam wrote on this MM. Now, it’s time for dinner.
04/20.2020: 0630: Up and on this computer. LAST NIGHT, we skipped the news for OUTLANDER instead. We skipped THE CROWN and watched CALL THE MIDWIFE. PJ passed on the Puzzle for her book THE FIERY CROSS (The same as the current series that we are watching.) She has about 50 pages to go for the finish of book five. There are four or five more books in the series. The next one will be A BREATH OF SNOW AND ASHES.
1030: After much debate, PJ and I have given up any pressure regarding the PUZZLE. It was a difficult choice, but it was slowing down our other activities. So the Puzzle is still up, and as we pass, it will put in a piece now and then (if we’re lucky enough to find this piece) and go on about our other tasks.
One other job that I have to do is smooth out my proof copy with the added information at the end of the story. Except for occasional breaks for food, archery practice, and various forms of exercising, most of the day will revert to writing. I can hardly wait. The characters are knocking at my mind’s door. Swombo and I wish you all good health.
